What the Royal Borough charges Kensington households in 2026
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea still treats private homes, for a fee, and its rodent charge is the highest of any council we cover. Its treatments and charges list was updated on 9 July 2026:
- Rats or mice: £258.80 at the council for four visits, three of them treatments and one to remove bait, in up to five rooms.
- Bed bugs: the council asks £428.30 for two visits covering up to two rooms, and £53.90 for each room beyond that.
- Clothes moths: £354.40 from the council for four visits spread across roughly four months.
- A separate pest investigation is listed by the council at £53.10.
Council tenants are in a different position. The borough treats rats and mice inside their building, bed bugs and cockroaches free of charge, so a tenant should ring 0800 137 111 before paying anyone. Clothes moths are not on that free list.

Why Kensington gets mice, clothes moths and bed bugs
Mice are the year-round job.
